What print does not have going for it is, the ability to drill down and achieve incredible depths of consumer insight, and then reach those people based upon interests, age, hobbies, occupations, income levels and so forth. This is quite valuable. But it is also quite complex, and since it is not my main area of expertise, I would prefer to test the waters – at least initially – via print.
I start with topic for my website, then build my website and start writing content for it. Because I don’t sell my own products, I already know that I’ll be able to sell products from other people without an issue. What I do is called “affiliate marketing”. Some people do like to research potential products to sell beforehand, but for myself, I’m mostly concerned with finding a topic I think is interesting, with maybe some traffic numbers research, and monetization comes afterward!
When was the last time you went to a new restaurant without looking it up online beforehand? Or bought a product that didn’t have at least a few 5-star reviews? It seems like more and more our world is run on reviews. And you can make money online by writing them. Get started by creating accounts on sites like Vindale research, Software Judge, FameBit, CrowdTap, Influence Central, and Modern Mom. However, before you run off and start writing, be sure to check the small print on each of these sites. Writing reviews isn’t a huge source of guaranteed income and you want to make sure that it’s worth your time before you get going.

Thanks for the tip on gravity numbers. I knew that gravity was a way to tell how popular a product is and if it was selling or not, but I didn’t know what type of numbers we should be looking for. My initial products chosen were certainly not chosen on the basis of gravity because I had no idea what it is! CB can definitely be a place to make some money, but one must be very careful to choose a good product. A new marketer might not always be able to tell the difference.

Promote and sell a fitness training course, eBook, or a series of videos. Or advertise your own personal fitness services on your site. Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience with Clickbank. Refunded 5 weeks later? That’s pretty extreme! I could not find any info on CB on whether gravity takes into account refund rates, but from other blogs, I read that NO, it doesn’t take it into account. The Earned/Sale category however does take this into account, which is why the average $ earned per sale will sometimes be different from the actual commission you make.
